Felix Cavaliere, American singer, songwriter, musician and member of the Rock N 'Roll Hall of Fame is coming to Northwest Indiana to play a one night only show to raise funds for Hospice of the Calumet Area. Opening the show for Felix will be Gary Indiana's own The Spaniels Forever. The event will follow with a special VIP reception hosted by the Porter County Museum.
It is our hope that this special benefit will raise significant funds to support the organization’s first music therapy program. Working with professionally trained music therapists, hospice or palliative care patients can experience less pain and can even help restore lighter and more cheerful aspects of their personality, especially those suffering from memory loss and agitation due to advanced illness.
Hospice of the Calumet Area provides compassionate care to over 1,000 individuals annually, including those residing at our hospice house, the William J. Riley Memorial Residence, and others who receive support in our free, palliative Transitions program. More than 19.000 people have been helped by these two care programs since Hospice of the Calumet Area began providing services 37 years ago. Also, in an effort to enhance our services provided to Porter County, we have been preparing to open a new location in the town of Porter.
