Michael McDermott possesses one of those classic rock voices and isn't afraid to use it. Drawing on influences from Bob Dylan to Van Morrison, he's a dysfunctional prophet who spins stories so brilliantly through his songs that they're old friends by the end of the first hearing. American Country Music Magazine commented that he's "the kind of raconteur writer who is so connected with himself that he can reach right through the speakers and punch you in the heart". Michael's live performances have also received praise from a dedicated fan-base and famous admirers like author Stephen King, who shared that "Michael McDermott is the greatest undiscovered rock n roll talent of the last 20 years" King also used Michael's lyrics in two books of his acclaimed novels - Insomnia and Rose Madder.

A beloved region favorite, A Christmas Story, The Musical, is based on the movie classic that runs round-the-clock on television every Christmas. Set in the 1940's in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, it follows 9-year old Ralphie and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts--an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. All the iconic scenes from the movie are here. Ralphie's friend, Flick, getting his tongue stuck to the flagpole; his brother, Randy, getting dressed in his snowsuit and the bullies, Farkus and Dill; the leg lamp award; the bunny suit and the Chinese restaurant; Christmas dinner; and many others. A Christmas Story, The Musical will bring an exciting new dimension to those who have seen the movie and will certainly stand on its own for those who haven't.
